Logo Reveal: Illuminate Parenting
Working with Mária to create this logo and visual identity for her new parent coaching business was wonderful! We started with a great planning session where we discussed names options she was considering and had some conversation around what her goals were and how she wanted her clients to feel when they interacted with this brand.
Mária explained her holistic approach to parenting and how she focuses on connection, needs, building skills, forgiveness, and hopes to empower parents who are doing their best, but want to do better. She talked about how this coaching process is a journey she's guiding people through. After some debate she landed on the name Illuminate Parenting and told me she wanted something playful, but not childish for the logo.
The firefly was a natural choice to include in the logo, since it represents bringing light to things, and it's a simple reminder of childhood, when fireflies felt like magic. We also included some stars around the firefly, because people have been using the stars as maps and guideposts for millennia.
For colors I combined a classic navy blue, which is reminiscent of the night sky, and is a great anchoring color, with a deep teal, mustard, gold and off white. The shades of gold and mustard are prefect to bring illumination into the design, and the additional colors create a well rounded look that we used to create some custom marketing materials and incorporated into her website.
