Color Palette: Radiant Reds
I’ve been creating color palettes in this blog capacity for over a year now! It’s been really fun exploring color in this way and seeing how all the hues work together. Color is powerful. It’s expressive. Today, rather than a theme as I typically do, I just want to explore the color red. It’s a primary color. It’s bold. Red is associated with love, passion, and also aggression, which one might argue is still passion. It’s a complicated color. Intense.
Red has always been one of my favorite colors. I feel confident in red. Red, white, and black were even my wedding colors. It was dramatic, and I loved it. I’ve also always been a huge fan of the White Stripes, who rocked a red, white and black color scheme as well. Branding that I associate with red would be Target, Coca-Cola, Netflix, and countless others.
Fashion designer Valentino Garavani once suggested, "Red has guts .... deep, strong, dramatic. A geranium red. A Goya red ... to be used like gold for furnishing a house ... for clothes, it is strong, like black or white.”
