Brand Reveal: The Ashman Collective
The Ashman Collective branding suite is especially near and dear to my heart, since I am a co-founder! Reneé Deckrow, Dacia Parker, and I make up The Ashman Collective.
We are a collective of dreamers & doers who encourage, motivate & guide you to discover your unique purpose. We help you share your story in a compelling & beautiful way with the world. We do this through vision coaching, business consulting, and storytelling. The three of us have been doing this kind of work for years with small business owners and non-profits, it was time to package it in a way where we can make it simple for people to work with us. Reneé started a support group for women entrepreneurs called BRAVE, about eight years ago and the three of us have all become intertwined in leading this group over the years. As one of our favorite quotes, which is an African proverb, states so beautifully, “If you want to go fast go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Some of the words that came up during our conversations around brand identity that we wanted to convey were: classic, sophisticated, and trustworthy. We wanted something versatile and with a bold color palette to build from. We also dug into the word Ashman. The name The Ashman Collective comes from the name of the building Reneé owns and we work out of, The Ashman Plaza. The word ashman literally means ash man: a worker who removes ashes. This made us think about symbols for fire, which lead us to the use of a triangle in some of the logos. Not only is it a classic elemental symbol for fire, it’s three sides are representative of our three founders. We also incorporated a leafy branch, symbolizing growth and change. Our heart for this business is to help people clear away the confusion and grow, so they can more clearly share the things they are passionate about. We hope to clear the ashes, to make room for the beauty of your fire.
The Ashman Collective is based in Ashman Plaza, at 713 Ashman St., Midland, Michigan. Connect with The Ashman Collective online on Facebook and Instagram.
In an effort to foster a creatives community I’ve started a Facebook group called Art is a Record Creatives Community, the same name as this blog. I would love for you to join in the fun as we discuss creative living, projects, art, and life.
